Race to OutRun Hunger Raises $19,000

Harvest Green - Race to OutRun Hunger Raises $19,000

October 04, 2021

The OutRun Hunger 5k Family Walk and Run was a success, raising more than $19,000 to feed hungry Fort Bend families.

The annual race, hosted by Harvest Green, benefits Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, a local non-profit that has been providing assistance to families and individuals during times of temporary financial crisis since 1990. Approximately $67,500 has been raised by the run since its inception in 2018.

More than 300 runners participated this year, up from 200 in 2020. A party at the finish line followed, featuring Messina Hof wine, Blockhouse coffee, vendors, food trucks and more.

The money raised will be used by Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry to provide food and financial assistance to children, families and seniors. Last year, the organization distributed $616,336.49 worth of food to families in need, including 7,075 families who received 10,849 Covid-19 Relief Sacks.

We were the title sponsor for the fourth year in a row with another 50 sponsors stepping up to help. Check out the list below to see who they were. Congratulations to everyone who took time out of their day to help Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry continue their amazing work! We’ll see you next year.
