There’s seasonal fun all December long near Veranda. Check out our list of holiday activities everyone in the family will enjoy.

Winter WonderWeeks
Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center
Daily through Dec. 23
Free with admission
Children learn that the holidays are about more than Santa and presents this month. Weekly themes include: 100% Chance of Snow, Dec. 6-10; Frozen Over, Dec. 13-17; Jingle Jangle, Dec. 20-24 and Rockin’ New Year, Dec. 27-31. Awesome events this month include Cindy Lou Who Storytime on Dec. 10, Frozen on Dec. 17 and a visit with Santa on Dec. 23.

CASA Christmas Home Tour
10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec 9-10 & 6-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9
$30 per person
Step through the doors of gorgeous Fort Bend homes lavishly decorated for the holidays. The beloved annual tradition also features festive entertainment and homemade holiday treats. All proceeds benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

The Lone Ranger’s Christmas Caper
George Ranch Historical Park
11 a.m. & 1 p.m. p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10
$60 adults, $45 children 12 and under
Help find the Lone Ranger’s horse, Silver. The two were separated during a shootout at the local outpost while trying to protect Santa Claus and his sleigh. Follow the clues to the hideout of the infamous El Tiburón and his gang to save Silver and Christmas presents meant for the children at the orphanage. Scavenger hunts are available by age. Ages 5 and under at 11 a.m. Ages 6-14 at 1 p.m.

Santa’s Christmas Tea
4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10
$25. Exclusively for ages 3-15
Children will enjoy tea, goodies, games and a chance to meet the cast of Our Gingerbread Murder Mystery and Santa.

Santa Dash 5K Run & Holiday Toy Drive
Sugar Land Memorial Park
9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10
$35 adults, $25 kids
Bring the family out for exercise and a chance to help others. There’s a 5k for adults and a 1k walk/run for the family and a kiddie dash. There will also be music, prizes, giveaways and more.

Campfire Christmas
George Ranch Historical Park
5:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17
Free with park admission. Registration required.
Warm up to the holidays with food, fun and a roaring campfire. The park’s annual event has been revamped to bring you even more festive cheer. Mosey out there for a rustic meal, dancing and singalong with cowboys as well as exploring a mistletoe decorated house, cozy tavern and more.

The light-filled holiday extravaganza returns with more than 3 million lights, movie nights, visits with Santa, carnival, themed areas, light shows, food, shopping and more.

Celebrate the season with a month’s worth of holiday activities including musical performances, dancing, holiday movies under the stars, photos with Santa and more.

Daily through Dec. 24
Reservations required. Free to visit, photo package costs vary
Children can whisper Christmas wishes in Santa’s ear while elves take a holiday photo families will treasure.

Pet Nights with Santa
First Colony Mall 
4-7 p.m. Mondays through Dec. 24 
Bring your furry friend to visit Santa and get a “paws-itively” “purr-fect” photo.
