Johnson Communities Rank Among Nation’s Top-Selling

Johnson Communities Rank Among Nation’s Top-Selling

August 04, 2023

Johnson Development continues its long tradition of receiving national notice for new-home sales, with several communities recently listed among the nation’s best-selling master-planned communities.

According to the annual mid-year report by Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO), Sienna in Missouri City is ranked No. 25 in the nation, while Jordan Ranch and Cross Creek Ranch are named among five honorable mentions, coming in at No. 51 and No. 54, respectively. The list tallies new home sales during the first six months of the year.

Sienna’s builders sold 328 homes from January through June, a 39 percent increase from the prior year and a near match to the 351 sales reported for all of 2022. Several new neighborhoods have opened in Sienna this year, with more on the horizon. Also coming this year for the 10,800-acre community is a new Fort Bend ISD elementary school and an expansion of Sawmill Lake Club to include an indoor event center, broad patios overlooking Sawmill Lake, a lake promenade and an event lawn. Sienna first appeared on lists of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities in 2010. Pricing in Sienna is from the $280,000s to more than $1 million.

Builders in Jordan Ranch reported 218 new-home sales during the first six months of 2023, a 6 percent increase from the first half of 2022. Nine builders offer a wide variety of home designs in Jordan Ranch and have opened several new model homes there. Homes are priced from the $300,000s to nearly $800,000.

Residents in Jordan Ranch enjoy generous amenities, including a pool complex with a lazy river, playgrounds, tennis courts and more. Jordan Ranch residents also have easy access to fresh produce from the 1.5-acre Sunset Farm, located in the community. Both the farm and the overall community are award-winning, with Jordan Ranch crowned “Community of the Year” and Sunset Farm “Community Amenity Center of the Year — Developer” in the 2022 Houston’s Best PRISM Awards presented by the Greater Houston Builders Association.

Cross Creek Ranch saw 207 home sales during the first six months of 2023, despite a decline in the number of neighborhoods actively selling new homes. The community is developing its final 300 acres, with eight builders offering homes priced from the $300,000s to more than $1 million. Previously listed among the nation’s 50 top-selling master-planned communities, Cross Creek Ranch is still adding to its generous array of amenities, opening the 4-acre Camp Flewellen recently. Camp Flewellen offers residents a second clubhouse and fitness center, as well as an event center, a playground, firepit, outdoor game area and shade structure.

The entire Johnson portfolio of communities is doing well, with year-to-date sales up 28 percent. It’s not the first— or second or third — time that Johnson Development has had communities ranked among the nation’s top 50. In fact, Johnson Development has had more top-selling master-planned communities than any other developer over the past decade.
