Johnson Development Remains Top-Selling Developer Over Last Decade

January 16, 2024

Johnson Development continues to have more top-selling master-planned communities over the last decade than any other developer in the nation, with three communities currently ranked among the nation’s 50 top-selling.

For a seventh consecutive year, Sienna in Missouri City ranks among the nation’s best-selling, coming in at No. 22 on the tally released recently by John Burns Research & Consulting. It’s the 13th time the 10,800-acre community has made an appearance among the top-selling communities in the nation.

Builders sold 606 homes in Sienna last year, a 73 percent increase over 2022. We delivered 444 new homesites to Sienna builders last year, with plans for more than 500 properties to go to builders this year. The availability and variety of homes — as well as a generous and growing list of amenities, onsite schools and commercial conveniences — continue to attract buyers to what is the largest community in Fort Bend County.

Jordan Ranch, located in Fulshear, earned the No. 46 spot on John Burns’ list, with 385 new homes sold last year. The community features a diverse array of home designs from nine builders, with base pricing from the $300,000s to the $620,000s. Residents enjoy amenities such as a resort-style pool and lazy river, parks and playgrounds, a fitness center, tennis courts and more. The onsite Sunset Farm offers fresh produce at a weekly farm stand and hosts special events throughout the year. The community lifestyle director plans a busy calendar of resident events for all ages.

Coming in at No. 49 on the John Burns list of the 50 top-selling master-planned communities is Cross Creek Ranch, also in Fulshear. Like Sienna, the 3,200-acre community has repeatedly been listed among the nation’s best-selling — nine times since Johnson Development acquired the community in 2012.

Builders sold 371 homes in Cross Creek Ranch last year, with several closing out their sales in the community, which is nearing close-out. There are currently seven builders in Cross Creek Ranch, where new homes are priced from the $300,000s to more than $1 million. Like other Johnson Development communities, Cross Creek Ranch offers numerous amenities, including three pool complexes, a 6,500-square-foot fitness center, more than 450 acres of interconnected waterways and 60 miles of trails.

In all, builders sold nearly 4,000 homes in our communities last year — a testament to the lifestyle-centered development that guides us. Watch for new Johnson communities selling this year!
