Making the move to Edgewater? That means you will be close to the many attractions found in the Clear Lake area. From trips to the stars to hikes to museums and boat cruises, you won’t be lacking for options the entire family will enjoy.

Here’s a list of our favorite places to visit.

Outdoor Fun

Armand Bayou Nature Center

The largest urban wilderness preserve in the United States offers wetland forests, prairie and marshland areas where 270 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians reside. Special programs such as Firefly Friday, owl prowl night hikes and bat hikes add to the fun.

Boardwalk FantaSea

Love the open waters? Sign up for a fabulous dinner cruise or live it up on a party cruise hosted by a live DJ. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Kemah, Clear Lake and Galveston Bay.

Clear Lake Park

Whatever you enjoy doing, 59-acre Clear Lake Park has it. The south side of the park offers a boat launch and fishing pier. On the north side, there are sports fields, playground equipment, a half-mile mile jogging trail, a community center and an open-air pavilion. There’s even an ancient Indian burial ground for the budding archeologists.

Clear Creek Golf Club

Considered one of the best conditioned public golf courses in South Houston, Clear Creek encompasses an 18-hole link-style course, a clubhouse featuring a bar and grill area, a golf shop, an on-course beverage cart, professional golf tournament services, Strike Golf Academy and ongoing golf clinics. There’s also an expansive golf practice facility, including a driving range and one of the best putting and chipping greens in Houston.

Butler Longhorn Museum

The man who saved the Texas longhorn from extinction, Milby Butler, has his own museum where you can learn about the longhorn bloodline and League City history through history and science exhibits, local art and artifacts.

Clear Creek Community Theatre

Community theater never looked so professional. Found in the 1960’s by Buzz Aldrin’s wife Joan, the theater has been delighting audiences for more than 50 years.

Lone Star Flight Museum

Discover more than 40 vintage aircraft and over 1,550 artifacts covering more than a century of air travel.

Space Center Houston

Space is the final frontier and celebrated daily with guided tours and an inside look at the U. S. space program.
