Cross Creek Ranch - Expect a Doggone Good Time This April

Houston’s Largest Home Tour is going to be “paw-some” this year in Cross Creek Ranch!

The April 13 Mutt Strut is going to be a highlight of the tour, happening daily throughout April. The tail-wagging event promises plenty of canine fun 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a peanut butter-eating contest (with prizes), costume contest (also with prizes), Houston Disc Dogs performances and a “wag bag” for the first 100 prompt pups. Dogs and their owners wanting exercise can participate in a charity walk, with proceeds benefiting the Fort Bend Animal Shelter and Fort Bend PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving). Admission to the Mutt Strut is free, but a donation of $10 to Fort Bend PAWS or an item to the Fort Bend Animal Shelter is requested.

But that won’t be the only reason to head to Cross Creek Ranch this April. Italian Maid Café is hosting its popular Music on the Patio series each Friday from 6-8 p.m. Guests can enjoy offerings from the spring menu as well as long-standing favorites while they relax to tunes by guitarist Rodrigo Gamboa on April 5, folk singer Mitch Marcoulier on April 12, indie artist Roger Tienken on April 19 and pop musician Alejandro Miramontes on April 26.

While in the community, look for picturesque plantings of towering metal wildflowers, offering a one-of-a-kind photo op for this year’s obligatory wildflower selfie. A giant metal butterfly also will be installed.

Dozens of move-in ready homes also will be open for touring. Hours for Houston’s Largest Home Tour are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
