Crawfish Boil Nets $5,000 for Brookwood Community

Crawfish Boil Nets $5,000 for Brookwood Community

June 03, 2019

Hundreds of people went “cray-z” for crawfish at the recent Jordan Ranch Crawfish Boil and in the process raised $5,000 for Brookwood Community.

Our May 18 event was a huge success with attendees dancing to live music, kids getting their faces painted and everyone cheering on their friends and family during the crawfish-eating contests.

Guests paid $5 for an all-you-can-eat crawfish meal with traditional sides. All proceeds benefitted Brookwood Community an educational, residential and entrepreneurial community for adults with disabilities.

The Houston non-profit serves adults with a range of physical and mental disabilities including autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and age-related issues. Full-time residential care is provided for 110 adults. More than 80 adults participate in a non-residential day program.

If you came hungry and left happy, we thank you! You helped make the world a better place.
