SiennArt To Be a Masterpiece Event

SiennArt To Be a Masterpiece Event

October 24, 2019

Lovers of art and art-inspired fun will be in their happy place during SiennArt 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Sawmill Lake Club in Sienna.

Nearly 50 artists from all over Houston (and even one from Austin!) are transforming the club, at 10323 Mount Logan, into an art gallery featuring a wide variety of mediums, including paintings, sculptures, woodworking, jewelry, pottery, photography and more. Guests can browse (and perhaps purchase favorite pieces) while sipping wine or beer. An array of food trucks will be available, as well, for those who want to enjoy the day and the relaxing ambiance of the Sawmill Lake Club. Admission to SiennArt is free.

“There will be something for everyone,” said Debra Jan Hall, a coordinator of the festival.

Hall, an artist herself and a resident of Sienna since 2003 said supporting local artists can enhance the relationship between culture and community.

“Art brings creativity, joy and a new perspective to a community, which enriches its quality of life,” Hall said. “By supporting local artists, you personally contribute to the growth of seasoned and developing talent. When you buy a piece of local art, you have a totally unique piece that is expressive and beautiful.”

In addition to displaying and selling their work, participating artists can enter pieces to be judged by a panel of professional artists. Prizes will be awarded to the top three artists, as well as Best in Show.

Young artists from Sienna’s on-site Thornton Middle School will have their own tent to sell student art as a fundraiser. The tent is sponsored by Sienna builder Newmark Homes.

Thanks to David Weekley for providing the wine glasses so art lovers can sip wine as they browse. A beer garden also is available. There will be activities for children, including a balloon artist sponsored by Toll Brothers, and chalk artists sponsored by Perry Homes, Sienna and Newmark Homes.

Food can be purchased from food trucks including Friohana Shave Ice, Cupcake And A Smile, Bowled Up/Off Beatz Eatz, French Quarter Fusion, American Lobster & Seafood, Tu-Go Kitchen, Anna's Gourmet Greek and Rich Boy Po’Boy.

“It's going to be a great day with beautiful artwork for sale,” Hall said. “Sienna and Johnson Development's commitment to the quality of the festival has been outstanding to ensure that you, your family and your friends will have a terrific day.”
