Get Out and Play (But Take Precautions)

Get Out and Play (But Take Precautions)

July 16, 2020

Texas is open again (albeit it with some restrictions), which means summer is officially on! We know you’re just as happy to get out of the house as we are but it’s important to do so safely, which means continuing social distancing. That doesn’t mean you have to cut down on the fun — just approach it a little differently.

Take a look at what Jordan Ranch residents are doing both in and out of our fantastic community.

Inside Jordan Ranch

Getting Those Steps In

Jordan Ranch residents really stepped up their game when the stay-at-home order took effect, logging a lot of miles on their FitBits as they walked our paved trail system. It’s been so much fun, they are still going for morning jogs, family bike rides and evening walks with their dogs.

Going With the Flow

Yes, the pool is open as is our lazy river. We’re taking extra precautions to keep residents safe and adhere to state guidelines for pools and water parks.

Hanging Out at The Shed

The Shed is our fabulous amenity complex. Among other things, it’s where our fitness center is located, and our residents are eager to burn off those quarantine pounds.

Getting Ready to Garden

Our newest amenity — the Community Garden — opens this summer and our residents are ready to get out and grow! The garden will offer up a bounty of organic herbs, fruits and vegetables as well as opportunities to learn more about nurturing their own green thumbs.

Keeping It Virtual

Crafting engaging virtual activities for our community wasn’t easy, but Director of Fun Solomon Delaney came through like a trooper. We’re still thinking about last month’s virtual Mojito Mix & Mingle! To help with social distancing, we will continue offering activities and exercise classes to our residents.

Outside Jordan Ranch

Visiting State Parks

Stephen F. Austin State Park is less than 30 minutes away from Jordan Ranch and the perfect place to hike, nature watch, geocache and have tons of outdoor fun. Make sure to get a permit online prior to heading to the park.

Taking Photos

Why not get those holiday card pictures done early? The "You'll Love Katy Mural" in historic Katy is a popular spot and perfect for a socially distanced photo. Or head out the Houston Zoo for outdoor fun and some great animal pics.

Visiting Restaurants

Restaurants are open for sit down meals, and owners have put a lot of work into making guests as comfortable as possible. Give your favorite place a call!

Donating

Our residents are looking for ways to continue helping those in need and if you are, too, consider donating to food pantries, Meals on Wheels and blood banks.
