WOFO is ‘Pawsome’ for Pups

WOFO is ‘Pawsome’ for Pups

June 04, 2021

There’s no doubt about it. Woodforest is a “pawsome” place for family Fidos. In addition to loving homes and big backyards, there are plenty of ways for curious canines to sniff out some fun.

Yep, it’s a dog’s life here. Take a look at all the tail-wagging fun our furry friends can have in a day.

Pond Parties

There are no hot dogs in Woodforest because they can cool off in two of Woodforest’s sparkling ponds. Cypress Pond and the pond at Christine Allen Nature Park allow pups to party so bring a stick for fetching and a towel for drying off.

Bark in the Park

Dogs have an opportunity to “raise the woof “when their families let them run leash-free in Admiral Bark Park. The park (named for our very first resident canine, Admiral Paul) includes play areas for large and small dogs and watering stations to keep them hydrated. Pups are also welcome at our other parks, but they have to stay on the leash.

Hikes for Hounds

They get to keep their owners in tip-top shape. Woodforest has miles and miles of trails, and our resident pups love going out for a walk or a jog with their humans. It’s also a chance for them to meet up with other furry friends and keep an eye on the local wildlife.

Perfect ‘Pup-accinos’

Pups love their people and coffee-loving people often take their friendly pooches with them to LUV Coffee for a “pup-accino.” Dogs are also welcome on the patio at Harvest Market. There are even water stations available there to slake their thirst.

On-site Medical Care

Keeping pups healthy is easy for concerned dog maws and “paws.” My Family Vet, located right here in Woodforest, provides wellness exams, vaccines, surgery, dental care and telemedicine.

Free Stuff!

Well, not all of the time. But this month, we are celebrating the dog days of summer with pup perks including a free dog leash, treats and a map to even more dog-friendly surprises in the community. Stop by The Palm information Center, 251 Central Pine Street.

‘Pup-arazzi Pawtraits"

Come out to "Pawtraits" on Saturday, June 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Have your camera-ready canine photographed by a professional photographer in beautiful Christine Allen Nature Park, 5831 Woodforest Parkway South. (Dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccines.)
Cost for photos is a can or bag of dog food that will be donated to a local charity.

WOFO The ‘Ulti-mutt’ Home for Dogs

With so much to do, it’s no wonder Woodforest is “pup-ular” with dogs and their owners. Do you think your four-legged family member would say “Woof!” for WOFO?
