Picnic For the Park to Honor Imperial Residents

Imperial - Picnic For the Park to Honor Imperial Residents

September 27, 2022

It’s time again for Picnic For the Park, the annual fundraiser for the 754-acre nature wonderland that is less than 2 miles from Imperial — Cullinan Park.

This year’s event — slated for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at River Pointe Church, 21000 Southwest Freeway — has a special tie to Imperial. The picnic will honor Doug and Susie Goff for their ongoing commitment to the park. Not only are the Goffs Imperial residents, but both are retired from Imperial developer Johnson Development. Susie was marketing director and Doug retired this year as Co-President of the company.

Available sponsorships range from $750 to $5,000, and each comes with a certain number of tickets and the name and logo listed during the event. More expensive sponsorships include additional benefits, including name displayed on park signage, special recognition in Fort Bend Focus Magazine, a custom engraved brick donor paver to be placed in the park and customized and framed print of a winning photo from the Cullinan Park Photo Contest. More information on sponsorships can be found here.

With more than 4 miles of shady trails, lakes and extensive prairie and woodland acreage, Cullinan Park is locals’ favorite place to enjoy birding, fishing, hiking, picnicking and other outdoor activities. The park serves as a critical wildlife habitat, with more than 276 species of birds and 378 types of plants seen in the park.

Money raised during this year’s Picnic For the Park will go toward Phase II improvements and the park’s L.E.A.P. (Learn, Explore and Play) area for children.

Beyond a picnic sponsorship, supporters can become a Friend of Cullinan Park, making a recurring monthly donation that will help keep the park healthy, safe and beautiful. Proceeds from the online store also benefit the park. You can even make Cullinan Park your Amazon Smile charity and .05 percent of everything you purchase through Amazon will benefit the park.
