Learn More About Divine Savior Academy in Sienna

Sienna - Learn More About Divine Savior Academy in Sienna

November 21, 2023

Sienna parents are lucky to have a full pre-K through high school cycle of schools located within the community, including a number of private preschools and eight Fort Bend ISD schools.

Also located in Sienna is a private school, Divine Savior Academy.

Opened in 2012, the school currently serves students in pre-Kindergarten through 11th grade. A 12th grade class will be introduced for the 2024-2025 school year, with the first Divine Savior senior class graduating in Sienna in 2025.

We recently chatted with Admissions Director Kristen Cortright about why parents seek out Divine Savior Academy. Here’s what she had to say:

There seems to be quite the demand for Divine Savior Academy! What do you hear from parents why they choose to send their children there?

You’re right that parents are wanting to send their children here — we have waiting lists for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and all of our middle school grades. Parents tell us they are seeking a quality education in a Christian environment. They appreciate the partnership with loving teachers who care for their students and can provide a more individualized experience and whole-child approach.

How large are your classes?

Our classes are anywhere from 15-22 students per classroom, depending on the grade level.  We are two classrooms for pre-K through 2nd grade, as well as two for 6th grade. We plan to add a second classroom for the other grades each following year.

What are some of the elective classes students enjoy?

Our elementary students can take art, music, Spanish, P.E. and social-emotional learning.  The same electives are offered for middle school with the addition of rotating options — digital design, drama, yearbook, computer, strength and conditioning and sewing. We build upon this in high school, adding STEM courses, painting and other art-related classes, Spanish and French, psychology and personal finance, just to name a few.

What extra-curricular activities do you offer?

Elementary students can participate in choir, drama and various sports opportunities such as basketball. Extra-curricular activities for our middle school students include National Junior Honor Society, student council, volleyball, 6-man tackle football, basketball, tennis, track and golf. Our high school students have the opportunity to play the same sports as middle school, with the addition of cross country. Students can also join student government and various clubs formed based on student interest.

How involved are parents at Divine Savior?

Many are very involved in PTO or as room parents, or as volunteers in athletics. Our parents jump in to help chaperone on field trips or to help run school events.  We have an amazing community of parents who consistently show love for our school and our staff.

What is next for Divine Savior Academy?

We are excited about the new 68,000-square-foot building now under construction that is slated to be complete by next summer. Plus, we graduate our first seniors in spring 2025.

What are the requirements for admittance?

Parents should take a tour of the school and then fill out an application and provide documents such as report cards. Students also undergo testing.

Is there anything you’d like to add?
