More Beer, More Bands, More Fun Sept 22
September 07, 2018
What’s on tap for this year’s Craft Fest? We’re glad you asked!
Our annual “brew-ha-ha” returns to Christine Allen Nature Park, 5831 Woodforest Parkway South, noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, with more beer, more bands and more fun — not to mention an opportunity to make a “beer run.”
The list of local breweries offering free samples of lagers, ales and stouts is growing daily and includes favorites such Saint Arnold, Spindletap Brewery, Karbach Brewery, 8thWonder Brewery and No Label Brewing Co. We’ve also tapped B-52 Brewing Company, Cyclers Brewing, Back Pew and a lot more! More than 20 breweries are expected to participate.
We’ve expanded our beer garden, too. Now you can purchase a full glass of beer, sit back and relax while listening to music by Louis Adams Band and Sick Duck. Got some in your party without a taste for the foamy stuff? Southern Rum Runners will have margaritas for sale.
For the first time this year, we are kicking off Craft Fest with a beer run. No, not to the liquor store, rather it’s a 5K run through Lake Creek Preserve, which borders Woodforest. The 5Kish Beer Run starts at 11 a.m. and finishes with a craft beer reward. The $35 race entry fee includes a t-shirt, medal, 16 oz. finisher pint and beer.
Topping off the free event will be DJ Chico, a rock wall, pony rides, inflatables, a game truck, maze, face painters, food trucks, lawn games and more. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed.
