Help Families OutRun Hunger Feb. 26

Grand Central Park - Help Families OutRun Hunger Feb. 26

January 05, 2022

Celebrate Mardi Gras, get some exercise and help the Montgomery County Food Bank feed hungry families during the OutRun Hunger 5K & 10K Saturday, Feb. 26.

Grand Central Park is hosting the race, which begins at 8 a.m. at The Lake House. The Mardi Gras-themed event is a first for the non-profit, which feeds 65,000 people each month. Not only will you help raise money for families in need, but you’ll also get to traverse our gorgeous trail system!

In addition to a 5K, 10k and 1K Second Line parade, there will be a carnival and vendor fair with face painters, balloon artists, Cajun food trucks and more.

The 5K and 10K races will be chip timed and participants will receive finisher medals. Awards will be given for the first three men and women to cross the finish line in each age group. The race fee for the 5K is $45 and the 10K race fee is $55.

The 1K Second Line parade will be led by the King and Queen of Mardi Gras, a brass band and more. The run is non-competitive and great for families. Mardi Gras costumes are encouraged.

All race fees increase by $10 if you sign up after 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25.

The Montgomery County Food Bank provides more than 11 million meals per year to families in need through a network of more than 70 partner pantries, local school districts and community partners.

Sign up yourself, your family, your friends and neighbors. It’s going to be a great race and a great day!
