Grand Central Park Invites Public to April 30 Picnic

Grand Central Park - Grand Central Park Invites Public to April 30 Picnic

April 21, 2016

Grand Central Park, a new master-planned community in Conroe, is inviting the public to an event of epic proportions Saturday, April 30 — “Houston’s Tastiest Picnic in the Park.”

The event, set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be staged at The Lake House in Grand Central Park, 715 Camp Strake Road. Families will receive picnic baskets — while supplies last — to fill with sandwiches, chips and cookies. Popcorn and cotton candy also will be available.

Parents can talk to community home builders while children can test their skill on an obstacle course, play lawn games and ride a giant zipline. Face painting, balloon art and a on-site disc jockey will add to the day’s fun. Admission is free and those interested in attending can register online at http://www.grandcentralparktx.com/picnic_in_the_park.

“With natural lakes, miles of trails and a heavily forested landscape, Grand Central Park is the ideal setting for a picnic,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of the community. “The public will have a tasty example of what our residents will enjoy every day.”

A significant portion of the 2,046-acre development will remain nature areas, and approximately 10 miles of hiking trails already traverse the community. Prominent in the community is the 88-acre Grand Lake, as well as Deer Lake, which will feature a planned Town Center along its shores.

Builder representatives from Coventry Homes, Darling Homes, David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Perry Homes and Village Builders will share information about their homes and more during the picnic. The first residential sections of Grand Central Park will feature patio homes, townhomes and luxury homes.
